Prostate problems are the fastest growing health concern among men in Western countries and prostate cancer is increasing steadily. The prostate is part of a man's sex organs. It's about the size of a walnut and surrounds the tube called the urethra, located just below the bladder. The urethra has two jobs: to carry urine from the bladder when you urinate and to carry semen during a sexual climax, or ejaculation. For men under 50, the most common problem is Prostatitis. For men over 50, the most common problem is prostate enlargement, also called Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia or BPH. Older men are at risk for prostate cancer as well, but this disease is much less common than BPH. "The course of prostate cancer growth, like breast cancer growth [is] due to the continued presence of an underlying metabolic imbalance. The underlying metabolic imbalance in all hormone-dependent cancers is estrogen dominance. Prevent the estrogen dominance and you will prevent the cancer. If the cancer is already underway, correcting the estrogen dominance will slow the cancer growth and prolong life....." Excerpts from medical paper by Dr. John R. Lee - Harvard. Symptoms
Early symptoms of BPH (enlargement of the prostate gland) include: weak urinary stream - difficulty starting urination - frequent urination including at night - painful ejaculation during sex. Symptoms for Prostatitis (inflammation of the prostate) include: pain in lower back or rectum - relapsing urinary tract infections - painful or difficult urination or other voiding problems - genital pain. Prostate cancer often shows no early symptoms and must be tested for. Treatments and Prevention Various drugs and other remedies often prescribed for prostate problems relieve a symptom but do not correct the underlying cause. (An exception is antibiotics which successfully treats prostate infections). They also have adverse side effects. This is unfortunate as there is indeed a remedy that medical science has known and used successfully for 30 years or more. This is the restoration and maintenance of hormonal balance through the use of bio-identical progesterone. Combined with Saw Palmetto extract in an effective transdermal cream called PROSTA-HEALTH - results are felt within weeks. An interesting and normal effect of restoring hormonal balance is a corresponding improvement in the sex drive. Used properly, there are no known adverse side effects.
